This week I spoke to Beth from Kippford Classic Car Hire.
1. What cars do you offer for hire?
We have a 70s VW camper in pale yellow, a Triumph Herald Convertible in pale blue and ivory, and a Morris Minor, which is a pale cream/white.
2. Do you do weddings only?
We also hire our our cars by the day or more. Our camper for a minimum of 2 nights and isn’t available for weddings between May and September (only self-drive/camping).
3. Are the cars provided for weddings with a driver?
If you book our wedding package you will have an experienced driver, either Paul or myself (or both if you have 2 cars). Sometimes people hire our vehicles on a self-drive basis for weddings, giving a friend or family member a chance to drive the car and more flexibility over timings. They can also hire our wedding package, which includes fitted satin ribbon, "Just Married" bunting and a white umbrella.
4. How far have you travelled for Weddings?
The furthest we have travelled for a wedding is north to Crail, in Fife and down to the South Lakes. 150 miles is probalbly the most we could comfortably do in one day. We could go further but the cost of an overnight stay would have to be included. We mostly cover D&G, and Carlisle areas, though.
5. How long can you hire a car for?
Our vehicles can be hired up to one month, but so far 2 weeks is the max!
6. Do you drop the cars off or do they need to be collected?
Our vehicles on the whole have to be collected from us, but we would be happy to deliver locally ourselves. We do sometimes meet customers from Lockerbie or Dumfries stations.
